It's funny how things work out and looking back to March last year who would have thought we'd be in another lockdown almost an entire year later.
Claire and Ian made the decision to go ahead with a smaller wedding rather than waiting and I was more than happy to go along with them as it transpired was going to be my last wedding for over 6 months.
Photographing weddings whether they have 2 people or 200 is all about the same thing, people and the gestures and looks they have, the details and obviously the couple themselves. Having less people present doesn't change things, it just means you have more time to focus on the people there.
Bridal prep was at the venue, a small apartment in the grounds and it was a relaxed affair. Poor Ian had to get changed in the hall at the venue but having photographed many weddings, most guys are ready within 10 minutes so it wasn't too much of an issue.
The ceremony was a humanist one, always my preferred choice as you get to learn more about the couple and afterwards we did a handful of group shots in the hall and then a few couple shots in the venue itself before having a wander around the park nearby.
Even though it wasn't a long day we had a lot of fun and credit goes to Claire and Ian for how they managed to make the day theirs without having to compromise too much and I'm really looking forward to the party they are having in 2022!
